TIME TO MASTER THOSE GROSS MOTOR SKILLS
It’s not just a time to run around and play, but we won’t tell them that. Outdoor play is essential to an early childhood program. Developmental tasks, like fine and gross motor skills can be most effectively mastered through outdoor play. In a society that spends most of its time in front of the TV and computer, and less time outdoors, it is crucial for the well-being and growth of a child to get up and get outside.
Heritage provides meaningful play time outside at our two fenced-in playgrounds. Children are able to practice and develop those gross motor skills while climbing, sliding, throwing, catching, running, riding bikes, among other activities.
