(4-5 YEARS)
“Knock, knock…” “What’s big and green…?” “Guess what?” Telling jokes showing off, and just being silly is what every four year old loves. Besides, who doesn’t enjoy a good “knock, knock” joke? Kids this age become more complex and imaginative in their language and play. Their skills are growing rapidly: their ability to communicate; their capacity for learning math concepts and using logical reasoning to solve problems; and their skillful use of fine and gross motor skills. Much of what has been learned in previous years has all lead up to this point. However, it is even more important now with Kindergarten facing them in just a few short months.
Kindergarten should be an exciting step for a child, and will be when the proper foundation for learning has been laid. Children will be better able to take advantage of educational opportunities if they are able to start school with a strong set of attitudes and skills.
With an emphasis on listening skills, language development, mathematical reasoning, and scientific thinking, our preschool program offers a wealth of learning-centered projects and activities that are designed to build upon these established developments. Our highly trained teachers employ learning centers to guide a child’s experience to embrace all the skills and understanding necessary for optimal growth and academic success.
Our program recognizes the expectations that schools have for a child’s social and academic performance when entering kindergarten. We strive to challenge children using an all-inclusive, academic-centered approach that will reinforce all areas of development. It is our goal to ensure that children enter kindergarten with the necessary skills and knowledge needed and expected of them, wherever they may attend.
